(NOT) THE SAME AS THE OLD FOSS

I’m excited to announce FOSSmg is rebranding itself at the start of 2015 with a modified company name, a new logo, new taglines and this, our brand new web site. (It’s fully responsive so it’ll look great on your smartphone, but I recommend viewing it on a bigger monitor to get the full effect. It’s amazing on a 27″ LED monitor.)

In the 14 year history of Foss Marketing Group we’ve had three web site designs. In 2015 we launch our fourth and it’s by far the best and most complete web site we’ve ever made for ourselves. I’m incredibly proud of this web site.

There are many reasons why I’m rebranding now. One primary motivator was that 2014 was a great year for us. Yet, I felt it was time to refresh and mature the tone of the company as we enter our 14th year in business.

I’m very happy with the new logo. For me, it carries several meanings. It has a “digital” aspect as well as something “racy,” implying speed. It’s connected while morphing the “Marketing Group” into an exponent…where I’m shifting the name of the company more squarely on FOSSmg as opposed to my legal, Foss Marketing Group, Inc. And the exponent will become a theme I will play with in tag lines.

I will be introducing other new taglines I’ll play with thematically like, “Make an Impact.” And while I’ve decided to move away from the “Online Marketing That Rocks” tagline and the rock theme, it hit me recently that a classic rock song should help me transition to the new brand.

Meet the new Foss. Not the same as the old Foss.

This is a play on the final two lines from “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” by The Who. I decided to have fun with that concept. One of the other stanzas from the song says, “The change it had to come, we knew it all along.” I felt that way about the last web site and knew a change had to come so that I could continue successfully for the next phase of FOSSmg.

This is the most comprehensive and modern web site I’ve ever made for myself. I’ve rewritten much of the content page by page and made many improvements over the previous site. Every artistic and written element and every feature has been created by yours truly. It has full-wide elements and is uber-responsive (meaning it looks great on any device/screen size). It had to demonstrate what we’re doing for you. It’s been a labor of love over these last few months and I’m very proud of it.
