Why the "Rock and Roll" Attitude?
Our own "search engine marketing that rocks" brand is actually not contrived. FossMG gets its rock and roll, out of the box attitude from its CEO and founder Erik Foss. He is a lead singer and songwriter and has been crafting original alternative rock songs in bands since the mid-80s.
Having performed live since he was eight years old, including theatre and several original and cover bands, Erik has performed hundreds of times and has opened for national artists like Chris Isaak, The Call, Book of Love, Sparks, and others. Erik continues singing even today in his latest band, Enesen (currently in the studio recording its debut release scheduled for 2010). So you could say we feel an authentic connection to our own brand -- we live our brand.
More About Our Leader
Erik Foss, founder and president of FossMG, has been in the marketing arena for over 15 years, reaching targeted audiences using the Internet. Erik founded FossMG in 2001 in Roseville, CA, outside of Sacramento, California’s capitol city.
Erik managed marketing research and strategy departments for different advertising agencies (one an Omnicom owned agency), and was among the first sales people for Monster.com before it was rebranded from Monsterboard.
Erik has been published in the Sacramento Business Journal, and also co-authored, edited and produced Recruiting Tends Survey Report 2007, Screening & Assessment: Best Practices,and co-authored Electronic Recruiting Exchange’s 2001 Applicant Tracking Systems Industry Analysis and Product Guide.
Lately, Erik spends more time writing Tweets on our Twitter account and posting to our blog, as well as developing white papers on search engine marketing best practices.
Erik also served on the Board of Directors for the American Marketing Association Sacramento Valley (AMASV) for seven years, and was the 40+ year-old chapter's first two-term President. He's an experienced speaker and presenter, holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and is married with three boys.
